Community Mentoring Group

We think everybody should have the opportunity to be up-skilled in a way that provides real world applicable skills. Supporting the tech community is important to us and we’re offering mentoring/training workshops run by some of the best technical minds for free.

The Sixes Community Mentoring Group is for professional software developers keen to advance in the .NET and Azure space. You’ll be able to benchmark yourself, understand gaps in your knowledge and seek support from those who are excelling in their field.

We’ll facilitate training that will help sharpen your technical skills, and we’ll give insights on non-technical skills – the soft skills required for developers to move into Leadership positions. What does it look like:

What are the time commitments?
Once a month on the last Monday of the month from 6-8pm.

What will be covered in the workshops?
Architecture, Patterns, Technical Negotiation, Gathering Requirements, Cloud, Testing, DevOps, Leadership Skills etc

Where is it?
Physically it will be in South Brisbane.

What are the mentee group demographics?
This is for experienced programmers who are keen to up skill, with two spots reserved for graduates/entry level.

What strings are attached?
None! We just ask that if you commit as a mentee to please to be consistent. We have made the groups small to support purposeful training.

Will there be food?
Yes! We got you covered.

When is the next group going through?
Our January group is full, but we’re accepting expressions of interest for our June start.
